I entered the "kprinter -stdin" into the "print command" field and hit
"OK".
Since then my Mozilla keeps this setting - don't know why.

No - I guess it is created by some Debian config utility. Don't know any
details.

JetDirect is roughly the same as the "app-socket" protocol which usually
uses
port 9100 and is alwo known under the service name "hp-pdl-datastr".
