a bit OT: esp-gs, LZE decoder and /Predictor 2

For a number of reasons (lots of site-specific modifications) we still
use a (meanwhile outdated)
AFPL gs 7.00. It still matches our needs short of the following but we
encountered yesterday:

Interpreting a TIFF image with a PS program (first version from
1997-02-25) that is Grayscale
(and possibly the dsame hold for RGB or CMYK files), is LZW compressed
and has Prodictor = 2
specified causes the very last scanline of every strip to be trashed.

I tested with eps-gs on a Linux box (a SuSE 8.2 distro). That didn't
show this bug.
Is anyone aware what change to the filter related code in Ghostscript
may help to solve
this issue?

Thanks,

Helge
