[cups.bugs] [HIGH] STR #1191: Assigning user based security to

[STR New]

I need to secure a printer, i.e. allow only one user to access the location
/printers/SECURED_PRINTER and those below them. Whatever I try to
configure (using users or groups) I end with

Error: client-error-not-authorized

Currently I tested that behaviour with CUPS 1.1.20 and 1.1.23 selfcompiled
under SuSE 8.1 (Linux basis 2.4.21-198-smp #1 SMP Thu Mar 11 17:43:40 UTC
2004 i686 unknown), on AMD and Intel dual processors.

As far as I can see from the DEBUG2 output, CUPS is unable to handle the
location /printers/SECURED_PRINTER.ppd correctly.

-rw-r--r-- 1 lp lp 62570 Jan 1 13:09 __DEFAULT.ppd

I need your assistance urgently, because I'm going to deploy a CUPS server
for appr. 1100 printers and SAP (printing cheques/personal data).

Thank you in advance.
