Hello

CUPS cannot be used with Java.

When using CUPS 1.1.23 (from Debian Sarge), Java printing works correctly
and full list of CUPS printers is shown in Java Printing dialog.
When using CUPS 1.2 prerelease, Java printing service cannot find any
printer and simpy reports "No printing service found".

This is true for Java 1.4/5.0 and 6.0 prereleases too.
A reproducible case could be made with iReports (http://ireports.sf.net
any release) and CUPS 1.2-rc2.
Given a plain or empty report, run with internal viewer and try printing.

Bug seem to be known to Java developers too, but nobody have fixed yet.
Maybe they are waiting for an official release of CUPS 1.2
