Till, ghostscript 8.53 does not fix the problem, it only alleviates it.
Please read my comments (and examples) in the novell bugzilla about it. So
even if ESP ghostscript could be based on gs 8.53, the problem remains. I
fear this annoying issue will be with us for some years.
