Is Driver for LaserJet III Broken

I have a IIIP running on SuSE10.0 with no problems. Printer is hooked up on
my parallel port. Driver I'm using is:HP LaserJet 3P w/ PCL5 Foomatic/ljet4
(recommended).  I have not tryed the GIMP driver.
