Sorry, this description of yours is very confusing. Can you give a
step-by-step procedure how to reproduce the problem? (Preferably one which
does not use any printer, just a PS viewer or a print preview -- since you
said before that the problem shows up in gs, gv, kghostview or gsview
exactly as in an actual printout...).

Also, can you create a file that includes a font sample at various font
sizes (that would probably be a better target to debug the problem)?

What is this font? Where can it be downloaded? How was the PDF file
created?
