I doubt, that this is the solution.

We do a lot of tests of ESP Ghostscript here and report problems/
patches back to you (AFAIK).

But if you think the problem is the Ghostscript version, please
open a new bugzilla entry at https://bugzilla.novell.com/

Building and installation of an own version of ghostscript, might
lack of several drivers, like the gimp-print/gutenprint driver and
some others. As the printing packages are teethed together (correct
english idiom?), it might be no good idea to update only a part of it.
