Please see my comments from STR #2054.

The "raw" option is the only way to send a PS file directly to a printer
without filtering.

We cannot omit %%EOF and the PJL stuff (or CTRL-D, as the case may be)
from the PS output, as that can produce an error on the printer, e.g. some
HP printers will print a timeout error after a printer-specific timeout.

We also do not want to support non-conforming PostScript files.
