BTW, for those playing along at home, this patch additionally needs some
permission changes in /etc/cups, such as changing
- check_permissions(ServerRoot, NULL, 0755, RunUser, Group, 1, 0) < 0
||
+ check_permissions(ServerRoot, NULL, 03755, RunUser, Group, 1, 0) <
0 ||
in scheduler/conf.c and installing /etc/cups/cupsys.conf as cupsys:root
0644. I do not have a specific patch for this, the Debian/Ubuntu patch for
configuration file management is much larger. We need to disable a lot of
the default chmod/chowning, since for distributions it is unappropriate to
clobber the admin's customizations in /etc.
I'm happy to answer questions about this here, of course.
