Problem with "outputorder=reverse"

Cups 1.2.8 was made available in the Gentoo distribution on Monday and I upgraded from 1.2.7 early Tuesday morning.  I modified texttops as described in STR #2158.

However, I now have a problem with the "outputorder=reverse" option.  Cups hangs when I try to use this option.  I reverted to 1.2.7; that works.  I tried a different printer driver with 1.2.8, didn't help, recompiled ghostscript-esp version 8.15.3, that didn't work either.  I saw the reference to STR #2111 and the patch described there.  I can see the patch in pstops.c in cups 1.2.7.  I don't see it in cups 1.2.8.  However, I don't really understand the cups software -- and, considering its size, I don't want to -- so perhaps the patch has been rewritten.

Anyway, I can't get "outputorder=reverse" to work.  "Print Shell - Konsole" fails also when reverse is selected.
