cups-lpd raw printing not possible with 1.2.7

hi,

this weekend i updated our printserver from cups-1.1.?? (SuSE-9.3) to 1.2.7-12.1 (opensuse-10.2).
SAMBA and most other applications printing works fine.
Printing from HP-UX remote clients doesn´t work anymore.
the application generates a PCL3 file which is transfered via cups-lpd to the cups server.

/etc/cups/mime.convs:
application/octet-stream        application/vnd.cups-raw        0       -

/etc/cups/mime.types:
application/octet-stream

/etc/xinetd.conf/cups-lpd:
server      = /usr/lib/cups/daemon/cups-lpd
server_args = cups-lpd -o document-format=application/octet-stream

in the error-log i see:

why is the cups server /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops?
i think this is causing the problem. (the file is PCL3 not PS)

with cups-1.1 it was working for years w/o problems.
