No, I didn't. I saw a difference between my two versions of CUPS (v1.2.8 and 1.2.12) which allowed the first '#' to be escaped using '\\', and that scheme is the one I used.

I think your suggestion to use IETF's rule is more correct. I will proceed that way, then will post the patched patch.  :-)
