We're having customers, who bought a parallel to usb adapter (cable) to use
their good, old printers in nowadays hardware.
But this is not possible, if there is no autoprobe information from the
usb adapter or printer avail, e.g. at very old printers. The reason is
that cups allows no longer usb:/dev/usb/lp0 as DeviceURI.

In this case we had a Canon BJ-100 printer attached via usb adapter.

Don't know if the cups team wants to fix this and brings the dynamic
device naming back?
But at least I report this back.
