Hello Michael,
Is this sanitize_title option capability in lpadmin only available when
the lpd code has been compiled with the __APPLE__ option?  RedHat does
not compile lpd with the __APPLE__ option.

The sanitize_title option is a device URI option, not a job option. You
need to use:

    lpadmin -p printer -v "lpd://foo/bar?sanitize_title=no"
