Issues with Cups crashing Samba

CUPS: /var/log/cups/error_log
SAMBA: /var/log/samba/log.smbd

I don't know the paths for solaris, maybe you have to search. Sadly I have no experience with truss and dtrace, so I can't answer your question. Normally you can only analyze with a core file or any other type of trace/dump/log file when you have killed the process.
