CUPS number-up limitation

Hi,

We are using CUPS to print reports on the Linux. For few of the reports we need to print, multiple pages on one sheet. The number is taken as a input from the user.

Later we are using number-up option to print as many pages per sheet as requested. However, CUPS limits the N-up option to take only limited set of values (1,2,4,6,9 and 16).

Is there a way around to print any number of pages per sheet, or we can take this as a CUPS limitation?

Please suggest.
