[STR Closed w/o Resolution]

The document you refer to is not hosted at cups.org or written by the CUPS
developers, and we cannot recommend following those instructions.

The current "Using Network Printing" help document already lists the
available encryption options, and the official way is not to symlink but
to use the IPP URI option "encryption=always" to use SSL. Furthermore, if
you specify port 443 (the default https port) the URI option is not
needed.

On Mac OS X, you can add :443 to the hostname or IP address when adding an
IP printer (with IPP selected as the protocol) or add "?encryption=always"
to the end of the printer name to get the same effect.
