CUPS crashes after deleting a printer

Under RHEL4, CUPS crashes when someone with a mac powerbook puts their computer on the network (which has printer sharing on) and then takes it off. He uses the powerbook at home, where he needs printer sharing enabled. We have no need to have printers found automatically. I have all our needed printers defined manually. Can I turn off or block this feature? Thanks. - Mark
