[cups.bugs] Printer install problem

I am trying to install an HP Deskjet 3915 in a Linux distribution 
(Puppy)  via http://localhost.631.  Everything goes well - I am informed 
that: Hewlett-Packard has been successfully installed, but when I try to 
print the test page there is this  message:


    /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip-hplip failed


What does this mean, and what can I do (or do different) to get my 
printer going?

I have tried several drivers, such as 3900, 3910, 3920.

I am a complete newbie.
