To be on the safe side for Linux install to
   $(cups-config --serverbin)/backend
which evaluates depending on the architecture
and on the particular Linux distribution to
   /usr/lib/cups/backend
   /usr/lib64/cups/backend
   /usr/lib32/cups/backend
