rasterdata to a file

[Ganesh]

Hi,
I got the raster data from the cupsfilter command . But in my filter some d000xxx file is given as input to my filter . I thought that file is in raster format. Is is so ? (But it seems to be post script format)
I am using the filter pstoraster.
