[STR New]

Using System->Administration->Printing GUI under GNOME to add a new (SMB)
printer. (Other local printer added perfectly.)
Everything is okay, including verifying the access to the SMB printer,
until the final "APPLY" at which time the following message box appears:
------------------
CUPS Server Error:
There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-not-possible'.
------------------
System is as follows:

[ads at ADS1 etc]$ uname -a
Linux ADS1 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.i686 #1 SMP Mon Dec 21 06:24:20 UTC 2009 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[ads at ADS1 etc]$

[ads at ADS1 etc]$ rpm -qa | grep -i cups
gutenprint-cups-5.2.4-7.fc12.i686
cups-1.4.2-20.fc12.i686
bluez-cups-4.58-1.fc12.i686
cups-pk-helper-0.0.4-10.fc12.i686
cups-libs-1.4.2-20.fc12.i686
-----------------
The remote SMB printer is found automatically as smb://DRS2/DRS-HP-1100
and it verifies "Print Share Verified".
The attached file cups.err shows two attempts to add this printer. In
both cases the ipp seems incorrect given that the printer was found by
selecting SMB, not as an ipp. But the cups.err file contains the line:
CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer client-error-not-possible: Bad device-uri scheme
"smb"!

BTW, with Fedora 8, I was able to add this printer.
