My experience with Ghostscript is that if the default 8MB RIPCache is 
set that it is very unreliable. Letting Ghostscript set the RIPCache by 
itself makes it working perfectly.

I am currently looking for a solution in Ghostscript, for the 9.00 
release to come out in August.
