[STR New]
If "-o media" option is omitted by lp command, a value of media option,
which is given to a driver
from CUPS, differ from version to version.
For example, if we set the default setting of our driver as âA4â by
CUPS GUI;
(CUPS1.3.X) media = A4
(CUPS1.4.X) media = iso_a4_210x297mm
(PPD definition) *PageSize A4/A4 210 x 297 mm: "<</PageSize[595.2
841.8]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
In the same way, if we set the default setting of our driver as "16x9
widesize (102 x 181 mm)" by CUPS GUI;
(CUPS1.3.X) media = HIVISION
(CUPS1.4.X) media = adobe_169widesize_4x7.10972in
(PPD definition)*PageSize HIVISION/16x9 wide size (102 x 181 mm):
"<</PageSize[288.0 512.0]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
We think the operation of CUPS1.3.X seems to be correct
because users can use the media ID which defined in PPD file.
