Hi,

I have DELL 3130cn printer .I had configured this printer to my Snow Leopard with the following steps

1) Select “/System Preferences/” pane and click on “/Print & Fax/” under the section “/Hardware/”.
2) In “Print & Fax” pane, Click on “+” symbol to add the printer
3) In the new dialog displayed, select “IP“ icon in the top toolbar.
a) Select “Protocol” as “Line Printer Daemon – LPD”.
b) Key-in the IP Address of the network printer.
c) Select “Print Using” as “Generic PostScript Printer”.
d)Queue and Location are optional.
e) Now Click on “Add” button at the RHS bottom of the dialog.
4) Will display the “Print & Fax” pane with an entry of the printer added as below.

After giving print from Text Edit , print job is going to hold state and message in Log & Message of print queue is

But i tried to turn on Airport from Network Diagnostics of printer Queue as
Printer Queue->Network Diagnostics->selected AirPort->continue

suddenly Printer starts printing the held job , and also printing new print jobs. But at this time I am not able to browse from Snow leopard even though I had observed from Sys Prefs that ethernet is still on connected state only.

If I turn of AirPort print job is going into hold state.
What might be the problem I have to look into. Please suggest me.
I want printer connectivity in lpd approach only becoz I have to hold & release the job whenever new job arrives for my project requirement.

Thanks in advance.
Akbar
