Reported to Canon in April, with no useful response.
Worked with 1.4.4 (openSUSE 11.3, Fedora 14 & *buntu 10.04/1.4.3).
Fails in 1.4.6 (openSUSE 11.4, 12.1, Fedora 15 & *buntu 11.04).
Latest available driver version (December 2010):

Test pages print, but all apps tried make printer data error.
