Hi guys. We (SATO) are working on at least a basic CUPS driver for SATO
SBPL printers. I hope to be able to post something here within the next
month or so. Regarding including that in the 1.6 release (we're too late
for 1.5), that's up to the CUPS team (given that we, or anyone else in the
community, produce a modified rastertolabel.c).

Any specific feature requests?
