More than likely the Red Hat generic driver requests an even number of
pages when duplex is enabled while the Ubuntu one doesn't.

In any case, it doesn't sound like you are using the CUPS Generic
PostScript Printer driver and you have additional third-party software
(probably Ghostscript) for generating PDF from the PostScript file.
