Smooth printing problem

Hey,

I need little help about the controlling of printer by unix scripts.
I am using Brother pocketjet 3 plus printer .
I am using the printer in no form feed mode. For that purpose, I have to update the job quene at regular basis.
when I do that , I face two problems..

1 - Sometimes Printer prints paritially and eject the whole page without printing anything but data light is keep blinking
2 - printing is not smooth..

I am not able to figure out the exact problem, but it looks to me that it's may be because of queue update problem.
please help on this..
