[cups.bugs] [MOD] STR #4166: Error message "Unable to locate printer ..." without contacting it

Found in cups-1.5.0 of openSUSE-12.1:
When trying to print a test file to my IPP print simulator, "lpstatus -t"
reports the error:
printer sim1 now printing sim1-51. enabled since Mo 20 Aug 2012 10:49:43
CEST
    Unable to locate printer ...
But according to the logs, CUPS never tried to contact the printer before
showing that message.
