I would like to switch on the printer when a print job is due by home
automation bus (Power socket switch using KNX bus). Therefore it would be
desirable to invoke a Shell with the printer in question being handed over
as a cmd-line option.

I couldn't find such functionality with cups. It would be great for power
savings as the printer in question uses up about 10W in standby that could
be spared most of the time.
