Sorry, looking again into the docs and the sources revealed that the URI syntax
accounts for a resource designation just before the options, the first character or which
must be '/‚ .
So, change the device-URI to
socket://10.87.20.41:9100/?waiteof=false
That should work then (at least I hope so).
