Thank you Michael Sweet, H.Blischke and Till Kamppeter. I shall check for
any clues on linux foundation and gs-pcl3 man page. 

Thank you H.Blischke for the good information on PCL3 and PJL. I am new to
developing applications for the printer and the inputs give a direction to
follow.

@Till Kamppeter : I was able to use the printer with hplip. But my
requirement is to have a ppd file that would enable printing on all/most
printers that uses PCL3GUI. Using hplip is a model specific approach and if
I am to use a particular version of hplip, only the printer models
supported/defined in that version can be used and any future models won't
be supported. But if I could use a generic ppd file for PCL3GUI, then I
might be able to support future models as well.
There are generic ppd files for PCL5 and its variants and I was able to
successfully use them for different models. However I couldn't locate such
a ppd file for PCL3GUI and only PCL3 generic ppd file is available. 

I would appreciate if there is a suggestion to achieve my objective.
