Hello Michael,

I'm using Cups 2.2.10 on Debian Buster and experienced an undocumented
behaviour when using PreserveJobHistory in cupsd.conf

As documented in https://www.cups.org/doc/man-cupsd.conf.html there are
three parameters for PreserveJobHistory:

- Yes
- No
- <seconds> after a job entry is removed.

The options Yes and No works as expected.
When I try to use <seconds>, especially PreserveJobHistory 86400 in
/etc/cups/cupsd.conf,
instead of deleting each job exceeding this timeframe, I get an error
message in the error log

"E [01/Feb/2019:10:02:13 +0100] Scheduler shutting down due to program
error."

and the Job history is empty.

Expected behaviour is, that each JobEntry exceeding 86400 seconds (1Day)
are not listed anymore / deleted from JobHistory.

Can you confirm this?

Kind regards,

Jörn-Ingo Weigert
