Remote host did not accept control file (99)

What is the cause of this error?

"Remote host did not accept control file (99)"

I am running CUPS on RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.   It seems that my print job is perpetually stuck in the print queue as a consequence.

Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks!
