Printing from Windows to a Linux shared printer

Hi

I'm having a problem printing from my Windows XP laptop to a linux shared printer. It prints fine on Linux but when I print from the laptop I don't get the right characters or if the characters do come out then there is odd spacing between some of the letters. I'm sharing via Samba incidentally.

I've installed windows fonts on to the linux machine but that doesn't seem to have helped. Any clues anyone?
