Try to set up a share your xp box is allowed to connect to as the user
you are
logged in on your xp box (perhaps it is necessary to add "map to gurest
= yes"
in the globals section of your smb.conf).
The thin is, from xp's point of view, you have to be successfully logged
in to a
print server to be able to use the print services.
