How to administer windows print queues for shared printers

Hello,

We migrated many print queues from Novell Non-NDP print services to CUPS.
Shared local printers (connected directly to Windows clients) has been
configured as LPD or SMB printers in CUPS.

With Novell users had a DOS utility (pconsole.exe) to query the print
queues. With cups users can do something similar via web connecting to 631
port (ipp service). The problem is, when a job has been sent to a shared
local printer, it disappears to immediately from CUPS queue because the job
is taken by the Windows queue even if the printer is offline. With Novell
this do not happen, because the users can see the works all the time, the
jobs are removed from the queue only when they are printed.

Please, give any suggestion to let the users to query the job queues in the
same way novell lets them do.

Thanks in advanced

Martin.
