CUPS not responding

My cups seems to be really messed up, in the webconfig I can                     only do about 5 actions before it stops responding ("Waiting for localhost...), and everytime I try to print something with lpr, lpr hangs, Word in cxoffice wont even run until cupsd has been stopped.  I've                     deleted everything in /etc/cups/ and reinstalled, Anyone have                     some other ideas?


Distro: Gentoo
