no, but you can just use PyKota's pkpgcounter command line tool
without configuring PyKota or using a database

this tool can be used independantly, BUT requires that PyKota is
installed (no configuration nor database needed though)

supported Page Description Languages are :

        Binary and DSC compliant PostScript
        PDF
        PCL3/4/5
        PCLXL (aka PCL6)
        ESC/P2
        
so it would be a bit hard to do all this in a bash script...
