[cups.general] Installation on a not fully qualified domain (SOHO)

I have installed a wireless SOHO, (Libranet 2.8.1 based) and have
decided to share my printers via a print server... I am cable connected
and receive my network address' from the ISPs DHCP server; therefore,
the address of the print server changes on startup... The printers
locally connected to the print server, all function correctly...

I can get the print server to broadcast its presence to the rest of my
192.168.x. network, but remote printing from the other clients does not
happen... The remote printers are listed in the client machine print
manager, and the Cups printer screens of the clients, but the
information gives an IPP address, sometimes for the wrong machine, and
all of the remote CUPs server connected printers appear to be connected
to LP0.

As I do not have a fully qualified domain, I cannot name the server by
any general or "short" name... I would really rather not set up a proxy
server, a local DHCP server, DNS server and the like, nor use static
host address' if possible... I do use one or two WIN98 systems on the
network, that will share the printers, to take care of utilities that
are not available in LINUX as yet...

Mitch :-)
