Yes, inetd.conf is used by older "inetd" demon, dir xinetd.d/ is used by
newer inetd replacement called xinetd. (Another possibility are daemontools.)
Start cupsd and point your browser to localhost:631 to define printers/
printqueues and classes. And don't forget to RTFM.
