Well, that's not what I thought.
I thought he could write his own script, called on each trap
plans to manage, which would :
1 - do an in-depth diagnosis of the printer's state
2 - send notifications to admin/users/etc by whatever
means he wants: email, pager, etc...
3 - deal with CUPS, e.g. reroute jobs, etc...
3 is difficult to do because every people have different needs,
and so an RFE is perhaps not a good option in this case.
