Custom header in printouts

I want to automatically print in the upper left corner of all my printouts the page number.
Example. If I print a 60 page document, I need to have cups automatically add in the upper left corner something like 1/60 , 2/60 etc.
The option page-label allows me as far as I know to add only static content in the center of the header and the footer.
Is this possible?
Can you give me any pointers?
