[cups.general] Better way to add a filter to a printer ?

Excuse the language. There are 3 Kyocera FS-1800s (sounds familiar), two
linked to a Netgear print server, the other has its own network card. 

I can only print from the lower tray on the last one, only with
foomatic/pxlmono, by setting the tray for the driver. Setting it for the
job, or part of the job, never works.

So I intend to use that printer for headed paper, and worry about duplex
another day.
