raw printing

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Linux, just installed suse linux personal 9.1.
Now facing problem in configuring printer with CUPS.
There is no canon bjc-256sp driver available, so i'm thinking to use "raw printing" (since i only print text).
But output is a lot of text look like some kind of command, whick i don't understand.
can anyone tell me what's going on and how to solve this problem.
