Help - usb printing stopped working

Just a note to add that it looks like a possible hardware problem with the
printer. HP service will be out on Monday to hopefully resolve the issue.
Other USB devices, including an HP DeskJet are working fine and I noticed
what looks (at least to my untrained eye) like a strange anomaly in the
output of "lsusb -v". I posted a partial earlier in the thread but for
anyone possibly interested the full output follows. I would be interested
to know if others have devices that show the same possible anomalies (it
may, afterall, be normal).
Notice that only the LaserJet displays 3 "Interface Descriptor" sections,
with 2 of them having 2 "Endpoint Descriptor" sections. Also the "iSerial"
number presented is incorrect (I didn't manually munge it - the serial
number as printed by the test page is a normal 10 byte hex number).
