[cups.general] Problem installing new printer

Hi,

I've two problems with a new printer I installed today.
Printer is a Dell 5100cn. I used the rpm to install the ppd
on the print sever (worked well !) and added the printer
using the webinterface. The test page was printed succesfully.
Now I wanted to add the driver to samba.
cupsaddsmb -v Printername caused the first problem.
The samba on the printserver is running with "security = domain"
and I have added a local user root. However what ever
I tried I could not add the driver, because samba
printed :

cupsaddsmb -v -U root C_1_020_D5100C
cupsaddsmb -v -U print\root C_1_020_D5100C ; print at root ...

That's the first problem !
What's wrong here ?


So finaly I used a windows pc connect as root (!) to the printserver
and installed the driver using the wizard. Worked perfectly !

But now I can only map the printer. Everything is shown correctly 
(settings of the printer), but the testpage "could not be printed".

Any idea ?

The samba log file shows no entry.

Any hint will be welcome ....
