cupsaddsmb: Unable to connect to server

I have followed the guide at http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=110931 to set up my server with CUPS and Samba. I have gotten to the step where it tells you to run:
cupsaddsmb -H PrintServer -U root -h PrintServer -v HPDeskJet930C
(except my printer is HPDeskJet840C so I used that)
however, this outputs:
cupsaddsmb: Unable to connect to server "PrintServer" for HPDeskJet840C - Success

I do not know what this means, but I assume that it is not successful, as the output differs entirely from what the guide tells me to expect.

The only google result for "cupsaddsmb: Unable to connect to server" is part of the CUPS source.

What could be causing this?
